everything's better, down where it's wetter.

Under the Sea photography by Dustin Humphrey. He's known for his action surf shots, so Insight hired him to do a line of artsy underwater photos. Brilliant.

64 Luft Balloons

Ze Germans love their balloons. And art. ATOM is a performance by  Monolake and Christopher Bauder for a matrix of 64 gas balloons, lights, and sound. From the website:

A room is filled with deep, evolving noises from a four-channel sound system. An eight-by-eight array of white, self-illuminated spheres floats in space like the atoms of a complex molecule.

Through variable positioning and illumination of each atom, a dynamic display sculpture comes into being, composed of physical objects, patterns of light, and synchronous rhythmic and textural sonic events. Change, sound, and movement converge into a larger form.

FFFFOUND is my new obsession, a website for image sharing. The catch: you have to be invited. Designers and artsy folk post their favorite images, so the quality is top-notch. I don't really care about posting images, I simply want to be able to save them to put in my "inspiration" file, which is why I'd like to figure out exactly who I need to harass to become a member.

Here are some things I've ffffound:
Collages by Eleanor Wood

Take Me With You, a Polaroid photo exchange. Graphics by James Joyce at One Fine Day.
